Remember the Connections KIDS and their families in your giving.

While many in-kind items and services are needed, cash donations are critical to sustaining the Connections Programs.  The following cash donations are currently critical:

  • MATCHING GRANT FUNDS - The Meadows Foundation has offered a challenge to the El Paso Community.  They have 25,000.00 waiting for us, IF WE RECEIVE 25,000.00 IN LOCAL FUNDS by December 31st 2010!

  • BUILDING FUND - Community SOLUTIONS needs a building in which to provide all programming.  We can apply for grants, but all grantors require that a portion of the funding is already in-hand, before application.  Your building fund donation is needed.
  • MONTHLY PLEDGES - Help with monthly operating expenses.

MONTHLY GROUP & TEAM MENTORING ACTIVITIES

    Donate Directly.

  • Mentors!
  • Drawing Prizes as Incentives and Thank You’s
  • Food items for 2nd Sundays (call for the monthly theme & menu)
  • Volunteers to Help with games and activities
  • Tickets &/or Coupons for Admission to Local Events

 NOTE: All volunteers working with children must be approved as mentors.  Mentor Orientation & Training is held on the 2nd Saturday of most months.

  BACK TO SCHOOL 

  • Pens, Pencils (#2’s of course, and any typical school supply
  • Sometimes - Tutors! (Especially for math and science & reading)

SUMMER SCHOOL BREAK:

  • SPONSORS FOR OUTINGS - FIELD TRIPS TO INTERESTING NEARBY SITES
  • VOLUNTEERS FOR “CAMP POSSIBILITY” & OVERNIGHT CAMP
  • Books, Games, Puzzles of Interest to Children & Teens

HOLIDAYS 

CASH DONATIONS ARE THE MOST HELPFUL 

Connections staff know the specific needs of each Connections child and family and will apply those funds in the most needed manner. 

 

THANKSGIVING DONATIONS NEEDED

  • Gift coupons for perishable grocery items to create baskets for prisoner’s families
  • Non perisable food items
  • Large Baskets or Nice Containers for the Baskets
  • “Cellophane” type wrapping paper and ribbons
  • Thanksgiving “dinner” for the party buffet
  • Decorations for the party!

CHRISTMAS DONATIONS NEEDED

  • Gifts for the Connections KIDS Christmas party, especially for BOYS and TEENS. (Connections serves children ages 4 through high school, however many families have infants and toddlers who come to the Christmas party.  We would like to have gifts for them, too!!!)
  • Undecorated PLAIN sugar cookies
  • Cookie decorating icings, sprinkles, etc.
  • Tamales
  • Christmas “dinner” for party buffet
  • Holiday decorations

OTHER OPERATING NEEDS

  • A BUILDING for offices & children’s group activities and large meeting/training sessions, with a kitchen and plenty of parking!
  • 12 Passenger Van
  • Game & Drawing prizes: trinkets, stuffed animals
  • LARGE items/items of value for Special Drawings & Fundraising

Don’t forget we ALWAYS NEED MENTORS FOR THE “CONNECTIONS KIDS”!!!
