El Paso Country Fair
The El Paso Country Fair began in 2006 as the primary annual fundraiser to locally support “Connections”, Community SOLUTIONS’ consistently growing specialized program for children of prisoners.Reminiscent of the early days of our country, up to and including the 1950’s, the Country Fair has been warmly received by the El Paso community as a reminder of days gone by when family was the center of community life. The fair provides a venue wherein parents and children can enjoy interaction with one another in a wholly family-friendly environment. Country style entertainment is featured along with a lively youth talent show, a “meet the breed” dog presentation and old fashioned carnival game booths; crafting vendors and of course a bevy of food booths. Each year exciting and fun-filled new activities are added to build on the old fashioned country fair theme.Community SOLUTIONS considers the Country Fair to be much more than a fundraiser. The fair has become a true gift to the El Paso community and offers opportunities to other nonprofit organizations to partner with Community SOLUTIONS in promoting family-friendly community activities by participating as vendors to earn revenue for their own organizations.
In its first two years the El Paso Country Fair quintupled in size, with five times the volunteer support; five times the attendance and five times the revenue it experienced during its first year. Future plans include expanding the fair to a multiple day event and adding even more activities reminiscent of “the good old days!”
